- Can I still select text afterwards?
- Raster compression turns pages into images, so no. Choose 'Optimise structure only' to keep text β savings are smaller.
- Why did it barely shrink?
- The file was already optimised or is mostly text. Try a lower resolution.
- Which strength should I pick?
- Strong for documents that will only be viewed on screen, light for anything that will be printed, and structure-only if you need to keep the text selectable. The resulting size is shown before you download.
- How do I get under a 25 MB email limit?
- Try medium first and check the size. If it is still over, go to strong. If even that is too large, split the document and send it in parts.
- Does compressing twice make it smaller?
- Barely. Re-running at the same strength mostly degrades quality. Raise the strength instead.
- The text went blurry.
- Strong uses screen resolution, so small type can smear. Upload the original again and use light, or structure-only.
Is my file safe?
Yes. This tool never sends your file to a server. The program runs on your device inside the browser, and the result is created right there. When you close the page, everything is cleared from memory and no record is kept.
