Services like iLovePDF and Smallpdf are excellent, but their free tiers come with daily task limits, file-size caps and waiting timers — and your file goes to their servers. This site works differently.
Server processing vs. browser processing
A typical PDF site uploads your file, processes it on their machines and sends it back. Servers cost money, so free use is limited to push you toward a subscription, and your file sits on their storage for a while.
Here the program itself is sent to your browser and your own computer does the work. Nothing runs on a server, so there is nothing to ration — and your file never leaves your device.
What this approach cannot do (honestly)
Converting Word or other office documents to PDF with perfect layout needs an office engine that does not fit in a browser. OCR for scanned documents is possible but needs a large model download, so it is still in progress. These are marked as coming soon rather than pretended.

Speed
No upload or download queue: most jobs finish in one to three seconds. Heavy jobs like compressing a 100-page scan take 10–30 seconds depending on your computer, with a progress bar.
