Merge PDFs on your phone — no app, iPhone and Android

2026-10-05

Sometimes a form is due and you only have your phone. Most PDF apps in the stores either stamp a watermark on the result or cap how many times you can use them per day. You can finish the job in the browser instead.

On iPhone

  • Open the Merge PDF tool in Safari
  • Tap Choose Files, then Browse, and pick the PDFs from iCloud Drive or On My iPhone
  • Files received in Mail or a messaging app need saving to the Files app first

On Android

  • Open the tool in Chrome
  • Tap Choose Files and pick from My Files or the Downloads folder
  • Files from messaging apps usually land in Download

Practical notes

Some phones will not let you select several files at once. Add them one at a time instead — you can reorder them afterwards, so the order you pick them in does not matter.

Nothing is uploaded, so this does not consume mobile data beyond loading the page once, and it keeps working on a weak connection.

Frequently asked questions

I cannot select more than one file at a time.
Some phones and OS versions limit multi-select. Add files one by one; you can reorder them afterwards.
Where did the PDF from my messaging app go?
On iPhone, save it to the Files app first. On Android it is usually in the Download folder.
Will this use my mobile data?
Only to load the page once. The files themselves are processed on the phone and never uploaded.
