Merge PDF files free — combine multiple PDFs into one (no sign-up, no watermark)

2026-09-28

Drop your PDFs into the merge tool, drag them into order and click Merge — that's it. There is no account, no file limit and no watermark, and the files never leave your computer because the merging happens inside your browser. That matters when you're combining contracts, medical records or anything else you'd rather not upload.

Step by step

  • 1) Export Word, PowerPoint or Google Docs files to PDF first (File → Save as / Download → PDF)
  • 2) Turn photos of paper pages into a PDF with the image-to-PDF tool
  • 3) Open Merge PDF, add all files, drag to reorder, click Merge
  • 4) Optionally add page numbers so readers can reference pages

Keeping the merged file small

Merging doesn't compress anything, so a stack of scanned pages can easily pass 25 MB. If the result is too big for email or an upload form, run it through Compress PDF at the 'light' setting — scanned documents usually shrink by more than half with no visible loss on screen.

Common problems and fixes

  • Mixed page sizes (Letter and A4) — export everything at the same size before merging, or crop afterwards
  • Some pages sideways — rotate them first with the Rotate tool
  • Password-protected PDF won't merge — remove the password in the app that created it, then merge
  • Wrong order after merging — the tool keeps the order shown in the list; drag the thumbnails before clicking Merge
