Send dozens of photos at once — zip them in the browser, no software needed

2026-10-06

Attaching photos one by one means the recipient downloads them one by one. A single ZIP fixes that, but many work computers have no archiving software installed. The browser can do it.

Shrink before you zip

Thirty phone photos exceed 100 MB, and zipping barely helps because JPGs are already compressed. Run them through Compress image at about quality 80 first, and if they will only be viewed on screen, resize to around 2000 pixels wide. That usually brings the set under a fifth of the original.

Zip and send

  • Upload the reduced photos to the zip tool and choose create
  • Attach the single ZIP. If it exceeds the email limit, usually 10 to 25 MB, split into two archives
  • Sent as a file in a messenger, a ZIP avoids the messenger recompressing the photos

On the receiving end

Phones open ZIPs with the built-in files app. On a PC without archiving software, the same tool's extract mode opens it.

Frequently asked questions

Does zipping make the photos smaller?
Hardly at all. JPG is already compressed, so ZIP gains almost nothing. Reduce the photos before zipping.
Can I zip a whole folder?
Files are added individually. For a folder structure, use the operating system's built-in compression.
